∙ 13y agoThis will not take long. If you put a male with the female, make sure they do not fight. The female will let you know if she is willing to breed. The act is quite quick and does not last long.
It just depends on if the female refuses to be mounted on. Sometimes it could take a month, sometimes a week.

mother guinea pigs are pregnant for 3 months or more.

∙ 12y agoThey are generally pregnant anywhere from 60 to 72 days. You can generally tell they're getting close when their abdomen gets really round so they're somewhat "light bulb" shaped. Also, try not to handle your guinea pig in the last couple of weeks of her pregnancy as you could accidentally harm the pups or stress out the momma (guinea pig babies are called pups).

They can be pregnant but it is not fair for a baby guinea pig to have to hold up to 8 guinea pigs. There is a very high chance they will die. I had a guinea pig that was pregnant when I got her(she was 14 weeks when she had babies) and she had 2 babies and tey all survived.
