There are about eleven not including the minor Goddesses of ancient Egypt. Bastet was a protective Goddess, she was the Goddess of cats. Hathor was a protective Goddess, she was the Goddess of joy, love, and cows. Isis was a protective Goddess, she was the Goddess of magic. Ma'at was the Goddess of truth, justice, and harmony. Nepthys was the Goddess of protecting the dead and rivers. Nut was the sky Goddess. Sekhmet was the Goddess of war and lionesses. Seshat was the Goddess of writing and measurement. Tawaret was the Goddess of hippos and protecting woman during pregnancy and child birth. Tefnut was the Goddess of moisture.
It appears from what can be found so far that the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt were roughly equal in number.

The Egyptians had no concept of monotheism, atheism, or henotheism with which to contrast their belief. As for what they called their religion, they called it "Kemet", which was the Ancient Egyptian word for "Egyptian". To them, there was no distinction between the Egyptian people and the Egyptian religion. Those who worshiped other gods or pantheons in Egypt were simply not Egyptians, but foreigners.

The number of ancinet Egyptian gods and goddesses, as well as foreign deities worshiped and adopted by the Egyptian people has yet to reach a agreed upon number. We still have much to find out about it all.
