As in World War One, women played a vital part in this country's success in World War Two. But, as with World War One, women at the end of World War Two, found that the advances they had made were greatly reduced when the soldiers returned from fighting abroad.
At the end of World War Two, those women who had found alternate employment from the normal for women, lost their jobs. The returning soldiers had to be found jobs and many wanted society to return to normal. Therefore by 1939, many young girls found employment in domestic service - 2 million of them, just as had happened in 1914. Wages were still only 25p a week.
When women found employment in the Civil Service, in teaching and in medicine they had to leave when they got married.
It's difficult to say as the lines moved and unlike WW1 were sometimes difficult to identify. A number of women, nurses and doctors, were caught up in combat, especially in the Pacific, and it was not uncommon in the Atlantic theater.
the reserve trench were the lin eof trenchs that are behind the front lin trench. if or when the front line trench is captured, the solidiers can use the reserve trench line and the substitute front line
The duration of Front Line - film - is 1.08 hours.
Early 1970's. But the US is among countries that still does not allow women to fill active combat duties on the front line, but are allowed to fill other positions such as artillery. Other countries including Canada, Sweden, and Denmark do allow this though.
yes, until they got to the front line.

Factories run by the women as the men were on the front line fighting :)
Yes, women worked as soldiers, sailors and air personnel. They did everything except front line combat.
women are aloud on the front line but as medics and are now aloud to join the 2nd line of defence
There were no women in the front line forces of any army at that time.
In WWII, on the Russian front, there were women fighter pilots, snipers, radio operators, medics but I don't think front line infantry. During the Israeli war of 1948, they were on the front lines, but I don't know what capacity.
No! There were camp followers, but no front line soldiers. Women might have driven wagons or been nurses.

yes, they should be allowed to. women should be treated equaly to men.
Women should be in combat/army but maybe more like a medic's or not on the front line or first in too battle!
This was a significant part of World War One for both men and women. Men got recognised mostly for fighting on the front line, but it was very rare women got recognised for there war efforts as this was the time before women's rights. I doubt very much that women enjoyed there contribution to the war by making i.e. bombs and amunition for the men who were fighting. Women were doing this job because there were no men back home to help. The working class were mainly working towards the war. A major era in which the growth of a women's place took hold was during and after the First World War. The end of the four year war ended these roles. The rising rate of patriotism (for king/queen and country) made people even more willing to join up or work for the latest war efforts.
As long as he didn't die. If he was lucky, he would have stayed on the front line for an approximate of 5minutes. the front line was a very dangerous place to be.
