There's not really a number. Its complicated. The 23 chromosome pair is the gender one. If you're female, you have two X chromosomes. If male, an X and a Y. There's really only that. If you want to be technical, every sperm in the body does has an X-chromosome, but I highly doubt that's relevant

All normal humans, male or female, have 46 chromosomes in 23 pairs in each cell.

Once in a while something goes wrong and a person may have more or less than this.

Often this results in a birth defect, such as Down's Syndrome or trisomy 21, in which there are 47 chromosomes per cell: the 21st "pair" is actually a triplet instead.
