In the United States the minimum is seven years of college - three years of undergraduate and four years of vet school. This varies by country, however.
I'm not sure what question you are asking exactly - how many clock hours, how many credit hours? In the United States to become a veterinarian you need to complete at least 7 years of college - 3 years of full-time undergraduate and 4 years of full-time vet school. It depends on the requirements of your state. I was a Vet Tech for over 34 year & got my license in 1974. At that time in CA, you had to work for a Veterinarian for at least 3 years & have them verify this. You then could challenge the test or go to 2 years of college at a special college that offered these courses. Now I am in OR and they are open to folks challenging the test. Normally you go to a 2 year college. Check with your state.
you have to take pre-veterinarian course for 2 years, then you have to go to university for 5... so all in all, it takes about 7 years to become any type of vet.
