Charlemagne's brother, Carloman, was his coregent, and ruled from September 24, 668 to December of 771, a little over three years. (I am finding several different dates for his death, December 4, 5, or 9.)
Cleopatra ruled Egypt officially for 17 years. Before Caesar established her on the throne authority see-sawed between her and her brother.
her teenage years were kinda tough. First she was driven out of Egypt by her own brother because he thought she was to much of a loon to rule, and in order to rule she had to have him killed.
Cleopatra was about 17 or 18 when she co-ruled with her brother. She was dethroned and did not have sole rule until she was 22 years old.

Cleopatra's rule actually began when Julius Caesar established her on the throne in 47 BC. Before this time she had been a sporadic ruler with her brother. She ruled for 17 years alone.
