Some scholars say that the Book of Isaiah was written by two authors, now known as First Isaiah and Second Isaiah. Others, possibly a minority, say that there were three authors, and add Third Isaiah as well.
First Isaiah, whom we know as the Isaiah who signed his work in verse 1:1, wrote during the reigns of Kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah of Judah. This places First Isaiah around 700 years before the time of Christ.
There was then a break of over a hundred years before an anonymous author, now known as Second Isaiah decided to add new material to the by-then ancient book, during the Babylonian Exile. Whether he is the same author who continued to write during the early years after the Return from Exile is uncertain. Overall, Second Isaiah (and Third Isaiah) wrote for some decades, but the total is open to debate. They lived around 500 years before Christ.
Thus, the Book of Isaiah was begun around 700 years before Christ and completed about 500 years before Christ.
