After high school (if you start college right away) it should take about 4 years to become a physical therapist.
it will take about 7 to 8 years
To become a respiratory therapist you have to have an associates degree (three years at an accredited college)
In order to be an occupational therapist it would take up to 6 years but many people can choose to continue going to college till they receive their PhD.
There's just not enough information to determine that. Remember, currently a physical therapist must now have a master's degree in physical therapy. This alone will take two to three years after completion of the bachelor's degree.
im not quiet sure, but you can research it on a computer.
Most colleges and universities are now dropping their Masters degree requirement for Physical Therapist. Most institutions are now making the Physical Therapist degree a Doctorate. Thus, if you are starting your 9th year (high school Freshman) you will need to complete four years of high school, four years of undergraduate work for your Bachelors, and three to four years for your Doctorate. So, it would take approximately 11 to 12 years from the start of high school. Sounds like an eternity, but time will pass anyway. Hold on to the dream! Viper1
you will need to get a bachelor's in either exercise physiology or biology/pre med before you start PT school. then you will need to get your doctorate in physical therapy and then take the boards to get your license. think 5 more years of college AFTER you become an assistant (2 yr degree).
This would be strictly dependent on which type of therapist you are referring to for there are many types. There are psychotherapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist etc.
I talked to a physical, occupational and speech therapist...and they ALL said it used to take four years of schooling, now for some reason it has been upped to 6. So...it takes six OR seven years of schooling to be any type of therapist. Unless you combine college therapist classes in with high school, then when you actually start going to college...it will take four years. Hope that helps!
A bachelor's of science degree in psychology, social work, physical therapy, nursing or education. Supplemental qualification and certification in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a big plus. It can take anywhere from 4 to 6 years on average to get the degree.
