It will depend on the credit load carried each semester, whether a student takes summer and/or interim semesters, and the schools curriculum layout. The masters will be time consuming, thus you should start light. If you wish to build up later, you will have a better idea of how much time your will have to set aside each day. Remember, there are many great colleges and universities that offer online degrees. This would help free up time due to the fact you will not have to deal with commuting, and on-campus coursework. Just make sure the college or university has a regional accreditation. With a regional accreditation you can be assured the coursework and degree you complete will be recognized by all other colleges and universities as well as employers. An online degree is no less a degree than on-campus attendance. The degree and transcript make no mention of "online." The only way someone would know is if you volunteered that information. Many of my colleagues at the college I teach at have taken their masters online, and have been very satisfied. The reason I bring this up, is that a number of schools have accelerated programs online where you can cut down the amount of time needed to complete the degree.
