Modern Humans, Homo Sapiens Sapiens, have been on the earth at least 200,000 years...This has been confirmed by DNA research...The first Human migrations out of Africa started around 100,000 years ago. Man reached Australia, the most distant place from Africa on the globe, at least 40,000 years ago, so most other places in the world were populated before that.

Geologists have been able to look back billions of years with the help of radiometric dating and other tools. The oldest Earth rock is around 4.25 billion years old. Moon rock is around 4.4 billion years of age, and some material is asteroids and meteorites is 4.567 billion years of age which dates back to the time of planetary accretion. These would represent the oldest material in our small zone of interstellar space. Far older material undoubtedly exists in the vastness of the cosmos.
