Do hammerhead sharks live with other sharks?
Hammerhead sharks tend to just swim about freely sometimes they are in groups of two or three but otherwise they are alone until it is time for them to find a suitable mate then sometimes they fight to the death in order to get the female. Good luck with your research
How many babies does a hammerhead shark have?
Hammerheads usually mate once a year and this happens when the male shark bites the female violently until she agrees to mate with him. After fertilization and gestation, the female gives birth to around 12 to 15 pups. The Great Hammerhead which is much larger than other species gives birth to litters of around 20 to 40 pups. Hammerheads do not raise their young. The young swim off immediately after birth and stay away from elders who might kill & consume them. The baby sharks huddle together and swim towards warmer & shallow waters and stay together until they are old enough to defend themselves.
Do hammerheads eat swimmers?
Hammerhead sharks can eat swimmers. However, they do have very small mouths compared to other sharks. This will make them have a harder time trying to bite and devour you. Sharks are not aggressive animals though, so you should not worry unless you are provoking them.

It really depends on what time of year it is. There are several species that come and go as the water temp. changes. There are Bull Sharks, Tiger Sharks (NC is a Birthing Ground for Tigers), Sand Tiger, Sand Bar, Scalloped Hammerhead, Smooth Dogfish, Blue Sharks, Thresher Sharks, Oceanic White Tips, Black Tips. There are also the occaisional Blue Mako Sharks. I know this sounds like a lot however, keep in mind most of these species are seasonal. Sharks are shy creatures and stay away from big animals such as humans. So no worries!

Sharks don't really display any "playing" behavior. That being said, some species will correlate in co-operative groups to work towards a common goal such as hunting or protecting. Also, in some species, females will group together to protect their unborn young. Scalloped hammerhead sharks also migrate in groups. For the most part, though, sharks are solitary predators and don't work well in groups and certainly don't "play."
