If you're referring to the zodiac star signs, there are 12 of them. Aries, Aquarius, Cancer, Capricorn, Pisces, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Taurus, Scorpio, and Virgo. Those are in no particular order, by the way. :)

This is supposed to be the constellations where the sun is on the ecliptic, your sun sign being where the sun is on the day you were born.
My birthday is June 8, the sun is very near aldeberan in the middle of tarus on June 8 as it has been for the last 3000 years every June 8th.
Since 12 relates easily to months, sun signs dont fall on the stars or constellations they call me a Gemini, which is about 15 degrees off.
Ophicus is on the ecliptic is a sun sign is on the zodiac, but has no people claiming it as their sign.
