It can recirculate salts to the topsoil...
irrigation provides water to the soil that otherwise might not be available due to proximity of the soil to water. Irrigation is an artificial means of channeling water from sources farther away to an area closer to the soil so as to facilitate agriculture that otherwise might not flourish.
The effect irrigation has on soil is that it dampens it, making it better for growing crops. To groundwater, irrigation fills it up with water. Rivers are affected by irrigation by the irrigation flowing into it.
well...I'm not sure but it might be harmfull for the soil because, if you dump all that it will be realy smelly and rotten and soil can not have that .it is just bad for the soil like that if you realy think of it.
either in the irrigation or by precultivating it into the soil.

Irrigation can improve crop yields by providing a consistent water supply, allowing for more intensive farming and multiple crop cycles in a year. However, over-irrigation can lead to waterlogging and salinization of soil, reducing fertility over time. Additionally, irrigation can alter the local ecosystem by affecting natural water sources and habitats.
Irrigation is the process of supplying water artificially to the plants through land or soil. Some of the commonly used irrigation types are surface irrigation, localized irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, sub irrigation, automatic irrigation and in-ground irrigation.
