How much automatic transmission fluid does a 1999 sunfire take?

According to the Haynes manual, 7 quarts for a 3 speed trans and 9.5 quarts for a 4 speed trans. Haynes says that this is with a filter replacement but does not include the torque converter.

I'd pick up an extra quart or two and check after filling and running for awhile.
