Probably 6 gallons when you are opening in the spring. Zero if you are closing it up for the winter. In the heat of the summer, enough to keep your chlorine level at 1-3PPM.

After the pool water is clean & clear..i use a half gallon in the mornin & another before bed. If you have alot of swimmers you can use 1 gal at night. :) ALWAYS check your clorine before people swim-just to be safe :).
