Best Answer

US dimes from 1965 to date are made from 75% copper and 25% nickel outer layers bonded to a core of pure copper, for a total of about 92% copper. Dimes weigh 2.27 gm so they contain roughly 2.09 gm of pure copper.

Older dimes were made of 90% silver and 10% copper. These coins weighed 2.5 gm so they contained 0.25 gm of copper.
