There is no difference; Ethernet is Ethernet, regardless of where it is deployed.
Ethernet.
"An ethernet cable splitter allows you to connect two computers to one ethernet connection. Once you have your splitter made, you plug it into both computers just as you would with a normal ethernet cable."
a ntwk op. system must have d folliwing properties 1.a protocol eg.TCO/IP 2.ethernet usable 3.properties of a normal client PC or server
If you have wireless internet, buy or use a gaming adapter. Hook an ethernet cord to the back of your ps2 to the gaming adapter or ethernet bridge. Now before you do that, make sure the adapter is configured to a computer. Slimline ps2's have a network slot in the back of it. Fat ps2's need a special adapter from the back of the ps2. They are called Ps2 adapters I think. If you have normal internet, I think you need to connect your ps2 to a router or modem with an ethernet cord. Make sure you have the online game CD for your ps2. If you don't have it, you can buy it pretty cheap at http://www.totalconsole.com/servlet/the-89/NETWORK-ADAPTER-ONLINE-START-dsh-UP/Detail.
Ethernet has access any time it is desired to transmit. It listens first to ensure no other nodes are communicating. If clear, they transmit. Yes, collisions are normal - If two nodes collide (transmit at the same time), they both back off, send a jamming signal, wait a "random" amount of time (based on their MAC address), and resend.
A normal crossed ethernet cable will do.
The arcade unit does not come with a hard drive, headset, or ethernet cable.
an internet subscription a wireless internet source. or a normal wired source with ethernet going into the console. a psn id (playstation network) playstation.com thats it (unlike xbox there is no charge for playing online its completely free) some content requires payment though
You need a crossover cable to connect two routers via normal Ethernet interfaces.
Yes, and it carries a lifetime warranty. However its a crossover cable not a patch cable. Its not for normal network connections.
What do you mean by "2-port ethernet switch"?You know you can hook two computers directly to each other with a crossover cable. Furthermore, if one of the computers has automatic crossover correction, you can just use a normal cable.
