Henry Ford didn't invent the car. It's generally believed that Karl Benz developed the first automobile with a petrol engine in 1885. What Henry Ford did do, however, was to take the idea of mass production, first used with cars by Ransom Olds, and to massively expand it, thus making cars significantly cheaper and therefore making cars accessible to a much, much greater number of buyers.
