Marlon Brando wasn't associated with the film 'Platoon' which was based on the Vietnam War and directed by Oliver Stone and multiple Oscar winner. The Film that Marlon Brando was associated with from the Vietnam-War genre is Apocalypse Now(1979) directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Regarding his pay, he received a record pay for a cameo appearance as Jor-el the biological father of the super-hero Superman in the movie titled 'Superman' in 1978. He was paid an amount of $3.7million for just 2 weeks of work.

Brando did not appear in Platoon .

You are most likely thinking of Apocalypse Now , another film set in Vietnam.

In that film, Brando was paid $1 million before even gettng the script.

He eventually got $3 million plus 8% of the gross. I could not find the final amount he made on this film, but one source said it was more than any other film he had worked on.

Why is Marlon Brando famous?

He is still considered by many to be the best stage and screen actor of all time. His signature role was Stanley Kowalski in Streetcar Named Desire or possibly as Vito Corleone in The Godfather.

Why was Marlon Brando famous?

Brando became famous for his role in A Streetcar Name Desire. His performance in that movie popularized method acting, where a performer immerses themselves in the mindset of their character. Brando's performance in the movie stands out because every other actor is still using stage acting techniques, clearly annunciating their words and making broad gestures "for the back seats," while Brando plays his role as realistically as possible. He mumbles many of his lines and uses small gestures that a camera picks up, but a stage audience would not have. In doing so he is often credited with revolutionizing acting for film as a distinctly different art than acting for stage.

Did Marlon Brando have a Religion?

There are a few rumours that Brando refused to swear on the bible at a trial stating that he was an atheist, however there is little supporting evidence for that. It is clear that Brando had unconventional beliefs (about a lot of things!) and apparently had a strong affinity for native American spiritual beliefs, he also sent his children to Jewish schools and named one of sons "Christian". So, all in all, he probably wouldn't have described himself as atheist.

How many Oscars have been replaced?

It likely happens all the time. Marlon Brando reportedly asked for a replacement for his 1954 Best Actor Oscar for "On the Waterfront" after it was stolen. This was after he refused the 1972 Best Actor award for "The Godfather."
