Each is the smallest denomination of coins in its currency system. However, several countries use the term "penny", either as the real name of a coin (e.g. the UK) or as a slang term for cents (e.g. US, Canada).
You'll need to check a conversion site such as the one linked below because any conversion factor posted here will be out of date very quickly. Because a euro cent is 1/100 of €1 and a cent or penny is 1/100 of its respective primary unit, you can just convert euros to US dollars, UK pounds, or whatever, to get your answer for e-cents and pennies.

Some of the older coins, especially those in great condition, are worth closer to 3 or 4 cents.
Steel pennies are worth 12 to 15 cents each and up to 65 cents if they weren't circulated. Steel pennies were made during WWII when cooper was needed to support the troops.
