Jockeys are not paid by hour. Depending on the amount of rides they have on the race card, they make money for each ride they deliver, usually around 50-100$. If they win, they will get extra bonuses, but they have to pay their valet, and agent out of their winnings.
they don't have to be they are normally because less weight makes them go faster
If you're meaning radio disc jockeys, it really depends on the market (city) they're in. The bigger the city, the more they most likely would make, but it also can depend on their shift, and/or experience. For example, I know there were radio DJs in New Orleans who made minimum wage. Most club and bar disc jockeys earn less than $25 per hour and many make minimum wage (or play for free). Mobile disc jockeys typically charge between $50 and $200 per hour. However, that shouldn't be confused with how much money they make. Mobile disc jockeys have the unique expenses of transporting, maintaining, and updating their equipment. All that can add up fast.

Dj's can earn about £80-£200 a night In the US, the normal pay for a disc jockey can range from just above minimum wage to over $1500 per night depending on many factors. Disc jockeys that work by the hour at a radio station or club typically get paid less than mobile disc jockeys. Disc jockeys in large cities typically get paid more than disc jockeys in small cities. Of course, disc jockeys who are good and build a good reputation get paid the premium rates.
