If you let them strike at the prey each time - the answer is simple - keep feeding until they don't strike anymore. If you use 'pop another in' after the first strike, then this is more difficult - if you over feed then they will probably regurgitate (so at least you know for next time). Depends on the weight of the snake - my 18 month olds weigh about 1Kg and eat 3-4 large mice a week.

Our 6mth old python weighs around 5 lbs and is fed every other day.
Get mice = lizards cos it's still small. if it doesn't want to eat try to force feed it. i had this Burmese python and i got it just days old at start it wont eat then i try to force feed it. gently open it's mouth then pus the lizard head first into it's mouth then push it slowly inside until the whole lizard is inside the mouth.
