How long is a piece of string? Is your soil clay or sand or ...? Is it wet or dry or ...? Is it homogeneous or it has organic matter in it? How densely is your 'Litre' packed with the soil? Get a litre of milk. Drink it. Cut off the top of the bottle. Measure the bottle. Write it down. Fill ithe bottle with soil. Measure it. Take of the the empty bottle's weight from this weight.
