Heavy haul or Specialized Trucking salary varies a lot. If you own a truck and get paid by the load I give an idea by basing it on a company I work for. On our load board you would see loads that pay the truck anywhere from a little over 3,000 up t0 18,000 dollars. That's permit load. Meaning the load is either wide long or heavier than what is considered normal and require permits. In my company a driver start out as an H2 driver. And goes up to the highest. If a driver for example does 10 H2 load he goes up to the next level and vice versa. Some of the really big loads that require crew from the power line company and vice versa just so the truck can pass through can get paid up to 200,000 dollars per load!!. Trucking is probably the only job in which salary can vary a whole lot. Some truck drivers barely survive some own big homes and make a lot of money. Heavy haul and specialized truckers probably top the money maker in the industry along with ice road truckers who make about 120 gran in a single season which is three months.
