A DVD holds around six times as much as a CD. Also, some USB drives and almost all hard drives hold WAY more than a CD.
A Blu-Ray holds nearly 20 GB of information. A regular DVD holds a little over 4 GB. A CD holds up to about 700 MB. The Blu-Ray holds about 30 times the information that a CD carries, and almost 5 times what a DVD can store.
A Blu-Ray DVD (50GB) holds more information than a DVD (4.7GB) which holds more information than a CD (700MB).
Each holds 8.5 gigabytes.
A CD holds about 700 MB. A DVD holds about 4.7 GB, or more for a dual-layer and/or double-sided DVD. You can now get USB thumb drives with capacity greater than a DVD.
Use a Dual Layer DVD that holds 7.2 GB a normal DVD only holds 4.2 GB
the USB holds more information
DVD
ram holds more
A DVD holds 4.7 GB = 4,700,000,000 bytes. (Actually something exact like 4,700,372,992 bytes.) A kilobyte is 1000 bytes, so a DVD holds 4,700,000 kilobytes.
There are a few disadvantages of DVD-D. The biggest disadvantage is that it holds much less memory than a Blu-ray disc, and therefore has lower picture and sound quality.
A High Definition Digital Versatile Disc or HD-DVD holds 15 GB per layer (a regular DVD holds 4.7 GB per layer)
