Cast iron or aluminum block type?
Aluminum crate engine roughly 380 pounds without clutch, 420 with.
GM claims 497lb for the fully dressed LS1, others claim 520 thru 530.
Cast iron is heavier, but I have no figures.
i know for a fact big block Chevy gen vi 454
1st gen FB = 2600lbs rounded number 2nd gen FC = 2900 to 3071 lbs 3rd gen FD =2822 lb
Not likely without seriously expensive modification
The engine will most likely fit, but the engine management computer system will be different- '95 is OBDI and the 98 is OBDII- (On-board diagnostics 1 and 2) the second gen system is much more complex
No, the LS2 is not considered a small block Chevy engine in the traditional sense. It is part of GM's LS engine family, which is a series of V8 engines that evolved from the small block design but features a different architecture. The LS2, specifically, is a 6.0-liter engine introduced in the mid-2000s and is often categorized as a "Gen III" or "Gen IV" engine, distinguishing it from the classic small block engines like the 350 or 327.
yes
1969
GEN2 on GEN1 = NO, ( the gen 2 engine is not anything like the traditional small block) Carb type on FI = Yes
No it will not,if yours is a 350. In 2000 and up GM. changed the design of the Chevy ingines(GEN II AND III) And every thing is different. Now if you have the Gen. II 5.7L engine that is not the 350. Then it will fit in the newer trucks with no modifying.
it depend on what parts. the 93 luminas are part of the first gen, and the 96 is second gen. some 93 luminas have the same 3.4 L DOHC(207 in
no modifications necessary
The 93 is gen. 1 and the 98 is a gen.2 so the answer is no
