Pretty much any antivirus will do. I use Avast, but AVG, Panda, and others should do fine. I recommend against Norton/Symantec and McAfee, however, as my customers tend to have a LOT of problems with them. Which is ironic, because they are one of the few that cost money.

An antivirus is a program that automatically detects and removes or quarantines all forms of virus, malware, Trojan, spyware etc from your PC. Some examples are Immunet Plus, AVG, Avira, Comodo, MSE etc.
This antivirus will cost you around 30 to 50 a year. It will give licenses for up to 3 computers to use. It is a very large and fully featured software.
The cost of renewing licences varies by state. You need to inquire with your state's DMV.
