Starbucks employees who work behind the counter to make coffee and other drinks are called baristas.
Well, first of all, Starbucks sells coffee, pastries, bagels etc.. They have been trying to go green for a while now, with recycled paper cups. Recently, Starbucks decided to use Fair Trade Coffee.Fair Trade Coffee is coffee that is produced by farmers who don't use pesticides, they grow their coffee naturally. They also usually don't make that much money, don't sell any of their products to big super markets like: Associated, Gourmet Garage etc.. Then Fair Trade buys their products and sells them to companies just like Starbucks. But, the good thing about Fair Trade Coffee is that when Fair Trade buys the coffee from the farmers, they are paying them more per pound. Get it?If that helped at all, please give me some points. Thanks, D Lilah
Very few. Starbucks sells fair trade coffee beans for you to take home and use.
A shot of coffee costs 6p. The Latte's they serve have 2 shots of coffee so that's 12p then the milk (depending on the size) is about 24p. the cup is pennys and sugar if required also pennies so most it costs them is 40 - 45p obviously though that is cost of product not counting staff, premises, bills and big fat bosses pay packets hahaha
Because the people who grow it are paid almost nothing. Even the ones who control it at that level can only make a little over a dollar a pound for Arabica (higher quality) beans on the international market. Consider that it will cost you at least $10 to buy a pound of Starbucks coffee.
Yes Starbucks is bad for you. Because, well its coffee! Certain ones can contain loads of surgar and caffeine of course. Also it possibly stunts your growth, makes your teeth yellow, trouble for your heart, and dents your wallet greatly. Because why would you want to pay 4 to 6 dollars for one small cup of coffee when you could just easy make it yourself and make it taste exactly the same. If you just absolutly just have to have Coffee. In the overall your losing every bit of positives out of Starbucks over priced unhealthy coffee.
It really depends on your tastes in coffee- also, you should make an effort to buy fair trade and shade grown coffee where possible. Starbucks actually sells environmentally sustainable coffee, but the cheapest place will be your local grocery store.
