You take out the old one and replace with a new one. Take pictures before just in case.
Remove wheels Secure rotor be re-installing 2 lug nuts Loosen both caliper mounting bolts Remove 1 of them to allow caliper to swing for access Remove outer brake pad Use "C" clamp and inner brake pad (for leverage) to retract piston into caliper body Install new brake pads Swing caliper into place and secure REMEMBER TO PUMP BRAKE PEDAL PRIOR TO MOVING VEHICLE TO SET PADS AGAINST ROTOR
You need to replace your brake caliper on the side that drags. The caliper has several parts (piston & slider) that corrode and get "stuck". The only way to fix the problem is to replace the caliper. If you try cleaning the parts, it will most likely stick again within a few months.
the brake back side left side light does not work when brake the RV
The rear brakes on most E350 vans are disc brake set-up....they are replaced just as the front pads are....remove the rear wheels....then open the bleeder valve on the rear caliper (one at a time)....then use a large screw driver and insert it through the oblong hole in the top of the caliper....try and grab the front of the rotor with the tip of the screw driver and slowly pry the caliper toward you...this just eliminates the need to use a c-clamp to press the caliper piston back into the caliper....remove the caliper bolts and lift the caliper from the caliper bracket.....replace the old pads and replace the caliper...if the caliper piston is still not pressed in far enough, use a c-clamp to press the piston the rest of the way in...once the piston is pressed all he way in tighten the bleeder valve (opening the bleeder valve eliminates the chance of pushing trash into the ABS proportioning valve and triggering the ABS light)....replace the caliper bolts...replace the wheel...and then move on to the other side....remember when both sides are done to pump up the brakes (otherwise the pedal will travel to the floor and no brakes)....If your van has rear drum brakes it is a bit more difficult but not bad....hope this helps. I take it you mean day-time running lights? Place the parking brake on the first notch will turn them off and not apply the brake.
bulb gone? fuse burned? battery dead?
either you have lost your brake fluid through a leak or you need a new brake master cylinder (the type of master cylinder varies according to if you have anti-lock brakes on all wheels, just the back, or not at all)
A rear brake diagram for this vehicle can be found in the cars maintenance manual and repair manual. Those can be bought at a local auto part store.
