What does it mean when the overdrive light blinks and the engine light is on in a '97 Mazda 626 DX 4 cylinder?
It could mean: the overdrive section in the transmission is stuck. I would call a Mazda dealer and ask for the service manager. He can give you some good advice. Answer Our O/D light (99- 626 4cyl auto) came on recently on a long trip. Trans. got warm, spewed some trans. fluid through vent tube. found out that we needed a transmission cooler installed-350.00. Works great now. Answer This happened with my 99 Mazda 626 and it turned out to be a warped valve body. The mechanic told us that this was a common occurance with Mazda and small ford front wheel drive transmissions. Answer That happened to my transmission in my 1997 Mazda 626 and I had to change out the entire transmission, that's what it means for most people. I believe what it is that the Ford transmission has a higher pressure build up for the Mazda tranny, and eventually they blow, and tranny fluid gets everywhere. Answer I am driving on the third rebuild of my 98 Mazda 626 4-cyl transmission. The shop suggested installing a transmission cooler when the transmission was last rebuilt which I did. The "overdrive off" indicator has never flashed before but did on our last road trip. The transmission pushed fluid through the vent tube on the air filter housing. It became so overheated that it burnt the fluid and we had to stop at a motel overnight. The next day, we completed our trip without incident - no flashing overdrive off indicator. I will have the fluid changed and check for maybe a blocked or air-locked transmission oil cooler. I don't think I will ever own another Mazda!
How do you check MANUAL transmission fluid on a 98 dodge stratus 2.0 liter?
== == A manual transmission does NOT have a dip stick like a automatic does. It does have a check hole on the side, about half way up from the bottom of the casing. Put the car on a hoist, and remove the plug and stick a finger in the hole. The fluid should be just below the level of the check hole. If too low, use a squeeze bottle with the proper gear oil, ( look at the owner's manual for the proper type) to fill the trans until it just oozes out of the check hole. Replace the plug, and check the trans case for leaks, as well as the front and rear trans seals.

How much does it cost to install cruise control on a van?
Depends on if you want a factory OEM unit or aftermarket. Price varies widely depending on where you live and which unit you choose. Look on eBay and you may b able to purchase an OEM unit, and then pay someone to install it or DIY. I purchased an OEM unit for my Toyota Tacoma on eBay for $100. Same unit at dealer was $300. Installed it myself. Not an easy job and does take time.
How do you remove the window cranks on a 1999 Sunfire?
Read the Haynes Repair manual and it states to either use a special tool (looks like flat bar, forked at the end) or to put the crank in the down position, lift a clean shop rag up and directly behind the crank, and pull up until the clip snaps out. I tried this but still can't see where the clip is that is supposed to be behind the crank. Anyone else have suggestions??

How do you fix the speedometer lights in a 1993 Lexus ES300?
Hi, I had the same problem with my es300. I found a company in Michigan that is able to replace the needles and get them to light up again. They had it back in a few days. They are called Dash Electronics & Speedometer the number is (248) 835 1332 found them on the web at: www.dashusa.com good luck!! I called dashusa.com and they said that it costs around $350 to fix the needles. They basically add on an LED light to the needles, they don't replace the needles.
How do you disable the seat belt alarm for a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
If the abs light on a 1996 Ford E150 van keep coming on then going off how do change the sensor?
sensors rarely go out i'd try first check brake fluid top it off this can cause brake light to come on if full check your brake pads and rotors you got to take your tires off any rust will set off the brake light inside your truck if they are fine then you should get your ball joints and tie rod ends checked out by a pro The ABS light may or may not be lighting due to a faulty sensor. If it is, and it is common to happen, you need to find out which one. Take it to an independent repair shop and they will need to troubleshoot it. I have the same problem on my Econoline 96, I've taken it to a dealer and several independent shops with no solution. My econoline does this mostly in the summer, and not during the cool days or winter.

What does cutaway mean on the 2008 e350 ford van?
the term cutaway is/was used to denote a vehicle that is partially completed at the factory and then sent to another place to have an ambulance box put on, delivery box, etc. On the vans, they called them "cutaways" because they were literally cut away just after the front driver seats and then a box of some sort mounted on the frame and mated to the front part of the van. I own a decomissioned ambulance that is considered a e350 cutaway chasis.

Why does your ford E350 van destroy serpentine belts?
There could be a number of answers for this problem. 1- are all of your pulleys in line. 2- has someone tried to turn one or more of he pulleys with a pair of pliers of pipe wrench and left burrs on the pulleys. 3- do you have bad bearing in one of the idler or the tension pulleys which could be making that pulley tip forward. Its also possible the fan clutch is seized, this causes undue stress on the belt when startup occurs.(personal experience) replace fan clutch and problem should dissappear

Where is the IAT sensor located?
The IAT sensor measures the temperature of the intake nmanifold. The ECM uses this sensor reading to set injection timing and adjust the air-fuel ratio. If the fuel mileage and power output of you engine seem low, some owners have found improvement in EGT, fuel economy, and power after cleaning carbon from the IAT sensor in at the rear of the intage manifold. Engine with exhaust brakes are particularly prone to IAT sensor fouling because soot is blown back into the intake during valve overlap. The only tool you need is a 3/8" ratchet with a 6" extension and 13/16" socket. View of IAT from above battery Closer view of the IAT sensor The IAT sensor is found on the driver's side of the engine, almost at the back of the intake manifold. Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor. You will need to spread the connect tab away from the sensor body to unplug the sensor. After the connector has been removed, use a 13/16" deep well socket, 6" extension, and ratchet to unscrew the sensor from the manifold. Photo of a dirty IAT sensor The sensor on the left had 20,000 miles on it, and it was covered with soot. After a shot of carburetor cleaner, you can see the sensor element inside the cage. Screw the clean IAT sensor back into the manifold, torque it to 10 ft-lb, and reattach the connector. Photo of a clean IAT sensor Normal IAT Sensor resistance values: Temperature Resistance 30 40K 32 30k to 36k ohms 76 13K ohms 77 9k to 11k ohms 81 6.87K ohms 122 3k to 4k ohms 130 4K ohms 167 600 to 675 ohms 212 600 to 675 ohms Replacement Sensor: Cummins PN 3408345, around $28. How do you set the clock on your 2002 Chevrolet van?
If there are two arrow buttons, one up and one down, those are probably the buttons to set the clock. If you look very closely (shine a flashlight on them if necessary) you will see "hr" and "min" inscribed in tiny letters above the buttons. With the radio turned off, hold down the "hr" button until the hour is correct. Repeat with the "min" button. This works great. If you have a work van like me you will need to blow off the dust to find the "hr" and "min" buttons.

How do you fix the dome light on a Sienna?
I have been told to remove the two screws that are located inside the garage door opener and then to gently pry the cover off. I haven't tried it yet. I am still looking for a more definitive answer also. There was a posting for a 1999 sienna also with the same problem. In that posting, the answer suggested to use a very thin screw driver to pry the plastic as well. On my van, the cover seems to be on very tight and it doesn't appear to be much space to insert the screw driver. If I do end up trying it, I'll let you know the results. I find it hard to believe that we are unable to locate a source for the 'official' method of changing this light. Good luck If you find out differently email at firstname.lastname@example.org. thanks

Gas mileage with 460 engine 8-cylinder 7.5 L?
"i have a e-350 one ton van with a 7.5 460 and i get about 14 m.p.g hwy or city and it has about 210.000 miles on it and it dosent use any oil between changes." Over the last 10 years, on dozens of forums across the USA, folks have been contributing their MPG figures. Whether fuel injected or with a carburetor, they generally report mileage figures much lower than 14mpg. Perhaps in a lightweight car or with fuel injection 14 mpg is common but for many, if not most owners...it is only a dream. Search all the forums you can about the ford 460, this is an issue that has been discussed for decades.
