There is no way of answering this question with a specific figure. Homicide detectives are first and foremost sworn law enforcement officers of the local agencies that employ them. The salaries and various pay scales are public record and in addition there usually is a longevity provision built-in to their salary as well. Detectives tend to work long hours on cases and, thus, some have the opportunity to make quite a bit of overtime. Contact your local law enforcement agency for their pay scale.

In the US there is no standard rate of pay for law enforcement officers. It all depends entirely on the area of the country, the size of the agency he works for, the prevailing rates of pay, etc.

It can vary state to state so depending on where you live determines how much you'll make. Texas and Colorado for example. Texas start off 53-85k that's without overtime 97+ with. Colorado 58-86k without overtime 100+ with (source)* family member is a homicide detective.

IT DEPENDS ON EXPERIENCE, HOW GOOD OF A DETECTIVE YOU ARE, AND OVER TIME. BUT I WOULD SAY 73,000 A YEAR WITHOUT OVER TIME.

What are the juresdictions for a homicide detective?

Homicide Detectives are simply highly experienced investigators who specialize in a particular crime. Their "jurisdiction" is the geographical boundaries of their governmental employer, whatever that may be. In reality, when investigating offenses; although these investigators are accorded a high degree of cooperation by other departments, they are granted no special authority, or deputization, in any other jurisdiction (e.g.: a New York City homicide detective cannot "arrest" you in Baltimore. Legally, a Baltimore officer would have to make the actual arrest).
