Call around for free estimates-Most reputable companys give free or cheap estimates, or take off the price of the estimate from the final bill if you decide to use them for the work.
Its impossible to give a cost without seeing the job-Are you buying the tank or is the plumber supplying it? How many gallons is the tank, which would facilitate knowing if I need to bring in special equipment to change it out. Every Plumbing company charges differant hourly rates, from my area they are from 60 dollars an hour to 130 dollars an hour.
FOLLOW UP: I contacted the original installer of the storage tank. My old tank was an epoxy style 120 gallon. They have to remove the fittings and surrounding pipes by 'unsweating', then drain the tank, then remove the tank, then install the new tank, 'resweat' the fittings and do a leak test after filling the tank.
Total cost: $1050.00 (includes the new tank - a glass filled 120 gallon epoxy tank)

∙ 9y agoWell pressure tanks currently cost from about 350 for a 30 qallon tank to about 650 for an 80 gallon. Associated costs ( tank Tee, pressure switch, gauge, valves ) are about 70. Most independent well technicians will install this for about 300.
