* how many years of experience the player has
* what kind of music is being played * what kind of venue is being used for the music to be played in or at * what region of the country Most guitar players are self employed too ... they charge what they believe the local market will bear ... that too changes from region to region. What a player is able to get in, say, Boston, will not be the same rate the identical player would get in, say, the town of Azusa in California.
