In today's Navy it's unlikely one will make it to Masterchief with red stripes. Those with the good conduct gold stripes don't make any more than anyone else in their pay grade. An E-9 Madterchief with 20 years under their belt will make 5436 a month while one with 30 years will make 6527 a month.
