Hi,

I can only answer for Scotland's workers. Newly Qualified workers can start on approx. £24,000 p.a., but this really depends on whether the employer / organisation is statutory (e.g. local authority) / voluntary / private, and who the local authority is. Some councils will pay more than others. Workers that have more experience usually around two years post qualifying, will expect to earn between £29,000 - £32,000 p.a. The opportunity for wage rises is under question at the moment due to political .strategies and governmental aims to save money in certain areas - one being the statutory sector, health and social care in particular.

Hope this helps.
