You took on the responsibility of a pet. Grow up and take care of it. If you can't be that decent, bring the dog to a no-kill shelter and surrender it. While you're there, make a large donation to help support the people that take care of the poor animals that get dropped off when people decide to be irresponsible and self-centered.
Really, make a big donation. It's the least you can do to help make the life of your once loved puppy happy with a new home now that he's a dog.
