That's varies from hospital to hospital and the specific situation. I know one example in which my friend spent one night in Florida Hospital Orlando and he had some kidney stone pain, that one night emergency charge was 9000$ and 450$ for doctor. The cashier said if he will get 50% rebate if my friend can pay tonight itself. So he paid 4500$ for hospital and 450$ for doc.
Note:In this specific example I still wonder is this some kinda trick by hospital management to show the cost as double and then make this rebate offer which no sane person can ever refuse!!! Whatever it is this cost sucks big time. In that much money you can go to any south Asian country like India, get treated well and come back with smile and nice tourism experience. Our healthcare sucks!!!

Whether it's legal for a police cruiser to be parked at night without lights on in an emergency lane depends on local laws and regulations. In many jurisdictions, police vehicles are allowed to park in emergency lanes without lights if they are not responding to an active incident. However, best practices typically recommend that emergency lights be activated to ensure visibility and safety. It's always advisable to check specific local laws for precise regulations.

This will depend on the type of practice the vet is in and whether or not he/she is on emergency duty that night. When not on emergency call, a vet can get the same amount of sleep that most adults do: 6-10 hours a night depending on the individual vet. When the vet is on emergency call, he/she may not get any sleep at all depending on whether an emergency is called in.
