They are screwed into the exhaust system / pipes. Unscrew them and replace.
Our Toyota dealer has estimated to be around $300.

They are screewed into the exhaust pipes--SYSTEM. I belive there is 3 of them in exhaust system. There is none after the muffler.

From what I understand, you have to diconnect the exhaust system on the side that the starter motor is located on. To reassemble you have to replace the exhaust gasket with a new one. If you are replacing the starter, there is a GM starter that is a direct replacement for the Isuzu starter and costs quite a bit less.
