I just did 15,000 sq ft as a DIY project.
Seed $90
Dethatcher rental $40
Slit seeder rental $50
Dirt to fill holes $150 about 4.5 yards
Lime $25
Starter fertilizer $50
Straw $5
This should give you some idea. The rental costs were minimum charges so I would expect those to be about the same. You can probably prorate the other charges for a reasonable estimate.
Oh yah. And a lot of sweat and hard labor.

∙ 9y agoThe cost to replace grass depends on a few variables. How big is the area that needs to be replaced? Will you be using seed or sod? Will you complete the project yourself or hire a landscape company?

∙ 11y agoInstead of using lawn seed on an acre of new lawn, you might want to consider using turf, as it is already grown and you won't have to wait for it to grow.
