I live in a place now that has no high speed internet options other than satellite internet so for years we had nothing but dial up service. Now we have satellite internet and it is 6 times faster than dial up. Cable or DSL is even faster than that. If you want to watch video's or listen to music online, ditching dial up is a must.
Any form of high speed internet will be faster than dial-up at both uploading and downloading. In additon to websites loading faster, you should also see a significant speed increase when downloading music or any other file type.

First, it depends on whether you want dial-up or high speed internet and what speed you want. Earthlink provides dial-up for under $10 a month, while Charter offers basic high speed internet for as low as $19.99 a month.
High-speed connections to the internet are often referred to as "broadband." This term encompasses various types of high-speed internet access, including DSL, cable, fiber-optic, and satellite connections. Broadband provides faster data transmission rates compared to traditional dial-up connections, enabling quicker downloads and smoother streaming experiences.
One can get high speed internet, wireless internet and dial up internet subscriptions from EarthLink Internet Services. They offer high speed services for just $14.95 per month or a 4G plan for $29.95.
High speed internet can generally mean anything over normal dialup 56k modem speeds. This does not even have to be broadband. The company could mean *faster* dial up speeds. You really need to check with the company and find out what kind of speeds they guarantee.
