no beans is tall and fat
I just opened and ate a can of non-fat refried beans from 7 years ago, and it was fine. At first my wife and I were going to throw it out, but with the current recession every can of beans counts.
It depends on what kinds of beans you are talking about. But most beans aren't low fat, I'm pretty sure. Sorry if this didn't help, hopefully it did, :)

Getting fat has more to do with the amount you're eating rather than with the substance you're eating. Store-bought baked beans tends to be surprisingly high in sugars though due to the sauce they're in. Beans are known however for causing flatulence, so they might make you a bit inflated.
Kidney beans are rich in iron.
Red beans are always cholesterol free and have very low fat, saturated fat and sodium content. They are really good for your health!
