You really shouldn't buy a newborn puppy. Puppies need to stay with their mothers for some weeks after birth to get important nutrition, antibodies and social training from their mothers. Anybody offering to sell you a new born puppy is irresponsible and not acting in the best interest of the animal. I would not buy a dog from such a person due to concerns about what else they might have done wrong in the breeding of the mother.

excact age of the pup

lineage

vaccination history

any prior training

individual's temperment as well as their individual appearance.

A well bred registered pup over 8 weeks old with a lineage stocked full of champions, vacinations and has already begun the basics of training can range between $500 and $2000, with show quality pups more then likely ranking in the thousands and pet quality being closer to the hundreds.

An unregistered pup above 8 weeks can sell anywhere between $100 and $500.

If the pups younger then 8 weeks, forget it. No reputablebreeder and no responsible buyer will ever sell/purchase a pup of any breed younger then 8 weeks. A dog sold that young will most likely have temperment issues and was very likely to have been poorly bred. If someone is offering to sell you a pup less then 8 weeks old, it's a scam.

If the pup is older then 10 weeks, the price is usually a lot lower, often dropping a good $50-$100 off the original price. Puppies that are a year old are often sold rather cheap unless they are proven show and work dogs.

New born puppies should not be removed from their mother until they have been weaned.
