You have two options:
1. Buy gauges and understand how to use them.
2. Buy a can of 134a from the auto parts store with a simple gauge. Instructions should be on the back of can.
3. Start car, turn on A/C to "Max Cold", put on gloves, hook up freon. fill to correct pressure.
This procedure is best left to a licensed professional such as myself, as anything under high pressure can be dangerous.
Hope this helps.
The refrigerant capacity for a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with front and rear air conditioning is 48 ounces. The capacity in front only air conditioning models is 29 ounces.
You add Freon on the low side with the motor running. The low side connection port for freon is much smaller in size compaired to the high side, so you can't put it in on the high side. If you are a novis at this, I suggest you buy the charge kit with a gage so you don't over fill the system,(if you over fill it it won't work properly)
Excessive freon may cause the compressor to"slug" (Seize)
I have a 1999 chevy lumina 3.1 engine and i need to know how much freon to put in.I just bought a pressure gauge and i don't know how much freon to put in. Thank you! Michael Hendrix
Aprox 30 oz.
The 2001 Ford Explorer A/C unit does not contain Freon (R12). Freon has not been used since 1995.
Under the hood of the 1996 with the F22 4 cylinder engine. It states 22oz of freon.
yes, it will blow out your seals. causeing all the freon you just put in to leak out. yes
I just replaced it on my 2004 trailblazer EXT with 4.2 engine. it is located outside under the driver door side. damn Philip screw rusted, had to cut plastic straps that hold it. put in new zip tie. it runs sweet!! no more rocking truck.
it depends on the size of the unit and how many pounds of freon it takes r-22 is going for 10 to 15 dollars a pound
4 pounds
as much as you need to untill the gauge gets to the right point.
