It depends on how long the lineset is between the air handler.and the condenser unit and what the diameter of the pipes .
This is not an answerable question. The correct amount of freon is set during the initial set up by the installer and is dependent on the length and routing of the lines.
It should be listed on the tag on the outdoor unit (in ounces). If not I would say between 8-12 lbs as a guesstimate.

The amount of freon in an air conditioning system is more dependant on the size of the components and the type of equipment than the cooling capacity. A typical system has a tag located near the charge ports that will tell you not only how much refrigerant is in the system, but what type as well.
