this year truck will have a mechanical fuel pump on most dodge engines it is on the passenger side of the block usually bolted to the side of the timing chain cover.
the 79 dodge powerwagon only had a mechanical fuel pump. so unless someone added a after market electrical one. it should not have wires
take your fuel line from your fuel pump off and blow into the line as hard as you can . you have sludge from the bottom of your fuel tank that is clogging the gas flow to your carb. Or your fuel pump isn't working .
It is in the tank and you can buy them from a Chrysler dealer that had them in Washington. I can't remember the dealer it's been so long.
