Garlic and onion are in a family of plants that contain sulfoxides and disulfides. These are very toxic to dogs and cats, more to cats, and more the onion. They cause a breakdown in the red blood cells resulting in Heinz body anemia, which can cause death. Some will argue that only large amounts can cause harm but no one provides the answer to, how much is too much? I say why risk it? Especially with your bran new Puppy. Specific formula for de-worming can be purchased almost any where, all pet stores, Walmart, target, maybe even your local grocery store.
