Idling modern electronically fuel injected cars does not save gas, it wastes it. Back in the days of carburetors, cars wasted a bit of fuel while starting up since the carburetors dispensed way too much gas during the start-up process. Each start up of old carbureted cars used the same amount of gas as 1-2 minutes of idling, so you saved gas by keeping your car running instead of shutting it down at short stops.
The only rare advantage to idling a modern car is in cold weather when the engine is still below normal operating temperature. In those cases, the few pennies of gas will cost you less than the cost of wear and tear caused by starting a cold engine.
Hybrid vehicles run on gas and electricity working together. This will save on gas, making your vehicle more environmentally sound. In theory you would save about half on gas.

it depends on how much u travel
The Smart car is a small and very fuel efficient car. If you are wondering how much you can save by buying one figure up how much you spend in gas a week and that is how much you would save.
It depends on which hybrid you drive and how much you drive it.
Does carpooling save gas? Is it cheaper to run around with just you in the car, or does extra weight add to the fuel usage? i think the answer is yes becaus it is less weght so less gas
According to an article on yahoo http://green.yahoo.com/blog/greenpicks/191/saving-gas-isn-t-just-for-tree-huggers-anymore.html Turning your vehicle off and on equals only 6 seconds of idleing.

only way to save gas is to not drive
It depends on how much you drive if you drive alot. Then you will save alot, compared to a gas car. Hybrids are much small so if you got into a crash you could easily die.
it is the fule cut off switch all is ok
Depends on how much you do to save. I know of instanced where people have saved hundreds of dollars on gas by having the engine tuned and chancing filters regularly.
