Recommended lube is GL-4 without sulfides. Sulfides in some oils attack yellow metals like the bronze synchros.
Also, the fill plug on your tranny is an inch too low from the factory and needs to be overfilled. You can park the drivers side high, like on a curb, and overfill it that way; or you can unbolt the shifter and pour it through there

you have to find the speedo cable on the side of the trans near the rear. unscrew the speedo ring on the cable and pull the cable out of the trans. then remove the small bolt and clamp on the trans right next to where the cable was. this allows you to remove the speedo gear. it may be hard to remove as it has an O-ring sealing it in the trans. on 4x4 I think the cable goes to the transfer case instead of the trans. but otherwise same process.

Depending on your car you have one of 2 things the speedo cable hooks to in the trans. It iether goes directly in to a gear in side the trans or hooks to a gear box which redirects a secound cable to the trans speedo gear. good luck Don
