∙ 12y agoThere is No gold IN the coin, it has been gold PLATED so the gold is ON the surface of the coin. A 10 Mil 24K Gold-clad Proof COPY of a 1933 Double is plated with 10 millionth of one inch of pure gold. Even at current record high gold values, it has maybe 5 cents worth of gold plating.
