It is a partisan myth that presidents cost us outrageous sums of money when they are on vacation. Republicans like to accuse Democratic presidents of being wasteful, and Democrats like to accuse Republicans of the same. To be fair, even when presidents are on vacation, they are also on duty, ready to take an emergency call from a cabinet member or someone in the Pentagon or whoever else might need to talk to the Commander in Chief. It is also a myth that President Obama has taken more vacations than any other president. There are some presidents who spend more time on vacation than others: but President Obama so far has not spent an unusual amount of time on vacation.
That said, whether we are discussing President Bush or President Obama, vacations can be expensive, since they require secret service, special use of Air Force One (with fuel charges, paying staff, etc), and whatever the cost of the rental of the vacation house, meals, etc. According to some estimates, President Obama's vacations have actually cost less than those of President Bush. But the fact remains: there is no easy or cheap way for any president to take some time off without incurring a number of expenses, and yes, these expenses do affect the taxpayers.
President Obama's vacations are paid for in the same manner as those of his predecessors. All Presidents and former Presidents receive Secret Service protection and regardless of where they are or what they are doing.
No more than the usual security expenses that every President incurs when on vacation.
He isn't using taxpayers money. The government requires him to pay for trips that are vacations and not government business.
Michelle Obama
Not nearly as much as Obama and his family have spent on their vacations.
According to Taxpayer Alliance it is one word.
He spent it on advertising
In 2011, the American people spent $1.4 billion dollars on the Obama family. This included vacations for Michelle Obama, along with the rest of immediate family.
Beleive it or not but B. Obama has spent the most $$$$$
george w bush
Taking into account inflation, I'm going to say Mrs. Obama will end up having spent the most.
He ran a very successful campaign that eventually got him elected. The money was spent on ads, airfare and social events.
Tax cuts mean more money to be spent. More money being spent means more money movement in the economy. A higher money movement is inherent in a strong economy, and often necessary.
$2.7 billion spent in 2009. $700 billion allocated for stimulus in 2009.btw- $445 billion spent in 2007 and $1.7T spent in 2008 under Republicans.http://money.cnn.com/news/storysupplement/economy/bailouttracker/
Taxpayer pay for abortions through Medicaid who helps women below the poverty line in some states, victims of rape and incest and also when a woman's health is at risk in all states. Exactly how much of all the money Medicaid gates each year that is spent on abortions for these reasons I can not find anywhere.
